This year’s talk will be given by Brian Touhey and is entitled “Rural Risley to Bustling Birchwood”
He has given the talk several times to different groups, typically up to about 50 people.
He is a local resident, having moved to the area 30 years ago, with a keen interest in photography and local history.
The talk takes people through the origins of Risley, rural life, Risley Moss, World War II, the post-war years and creation of a new town. And will be illustrated by some lovely photographs that he has taken over the years.
